Privacy Policy

Effective October 30, 2026

We collect as little personal information as we need to answer your questions and run this Site, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use advertising cookies. The details are below.

01Who we are and what this covers

Alder Compute Inc. (“Alder”, “we”, “us”) designs, builds and operates dedicated GPU clusters for businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit aldercompute.ai (the “Site”), submit a request through it, or write to us at an aldercompute.ai address. For that information, Alder is the controller (or “business”, under U.S. state laws).

It does not cover data that our customers store or process on clusters we operate for them. We handle that data only on our customers’ instructions, under our customer agreements and any data processing addendum, and our customers’ own privacy notices apply to it.

02Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Capacity requests. When you use the form on our contact page: your name, work email, company and role, and what you tell us about your project (workload, preferred platform, cluster size, timeline and any notes).
  • Correspondence. The content of emails and other messages you send us, and your contact details.

Please don’t send us sensitive personal information (for example, government ID numbers or health information) through the Site.

Information collected automatically

  • Request data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical details of each request — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time — for security, debugging and abuse prevention. When you submit the form we also store your browser’s user-agent string and the page you came from alongside your request. Your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated submissions; it is not stored with your request.
  • Analytics. If analytics cookies are enabled (see Cookies and similar technologies), Google Analytics collects information about how you use the Site: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city and country, derived from your IP address), device and browser, how you arrived, and actions such as submitting the contact form. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
  • Preferences. The Site stores your reduced-motion setting and your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage.

Information from other sources

We may receive business contact information about you from colleagues who refer you, from partners and event organisers, or from publicly available professional sources, and combine it with information you give us.

03How we use information

  • To respond to your request: understand your workload, design a cluster, prepare proposals and follow up.
  • To communicate with you about our services, including occasional updates relevant to an inquiry you made. You can ask us to stop at any time.
  • To operate, secure and debug the Site, and to detect and prevent spam, fraud and abuse.
  • To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
  • To comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, property and safety of Alder, our customers and others.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

05How we share information

We share personal information only as follows:

  • Service providers who process it on our behalf and under contract: Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, database and logging), Google Analytics (Site analytics) and Google Workspace (email). They may use it only to provide their services to us.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and auditors, under duties of confidentiality.
  • Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
  • Legal and safety reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or legal process, or needed to protect rights, property or safety.
  • With your direction or consent.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising or targeted advertising. Google Analytics is configured with advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation turned off.

06Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage. Analytics cookies are off until you accept them if you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, and on by default elsewhere; your choice applies everywhere. We never use advertising cookies.

Your choices

  • Use the Cookies link in the Site footer to accept or decline analytics at any time. Declining removes existing analytics cookies.
  • We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a choice to decline analytics. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals, which have no common standard.
  • You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

07How long we keep information

  • Requests and correspondence: for as long as needed to respond and manage our relationship with you, and generally no longer than three years after our last contact, unless we enter into an agreement or the law requires longer.
  • Request logs: for up to 30 days, or longer when needed to investigate a security incident.
  • Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

08Security

The Site is served only over HTTPS, and information is encrypted at rest by our cloud provider. Requests submitted through the Site are stored in a database that cannot be read from the public internet, and access is limited to Alder personnel who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and regulators of a breach where the law requires.

09International transfers

Alder is based in the United States, and we and our service providers process information in the United States. If you are outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in a country whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) in our agreements with service providers, or a provider’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions.

10Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know and access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a portable copy;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete your information;
  • object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing;
  • withdraw consent, where we rely on it, without affecting earlier processing;
  • opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, targeted advertising and profiling — although we do none of these;
  • not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To make a request, email info@aldercompute.ai. We will confirm receipt, may need to verify your identity by matching information we already hold, and will respond within the time the law allows (for example, 45 days under California law or one month under the GDPR). You may use an authorised agent; we may ask for proof of the agent’s authority and verify your identity directly.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the subject “Appeal”; we will respond within the time your state’s law requires. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

11Notice for California residents

In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information, from the sources described above:

  • Identifiers, such as name, email address and IP address;
  • Professional information, such as company, role and project details;
  • Internet or other network activity, such as pages viewed and interactions with the Site;
  • Approximate geolocation, derived from IP address.

We use these categories for the business purposes in How we use information, and disclose them for business purposes only to the service providers and other recipients in How we share information. We have not sold or shared (as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act) personal information, including that of consumers under 16, and we do not collect sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about consumers. We keep each category for the periods in How long we keep information.

12Children

The Site is meant for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, if the changes are material, give notice on the Site or by email before they take effect.
